When you Start your Personal Training


Before you begin your personal training, there are a couple of questionannaires that we shall ask you to complete:

Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q)

This questionnaire is an essential first step if you are changing your levels of physical activity. For most people, physical activity will not pose any risk or hazard, but the questionnaire identifies which types of exercise may be inappropriate in certain circumstances.

Health & Lifestyle Questionnaire

These tests help identify any health conditions for which certain exercises may be contraindicated and establish a set of fitness baselines from which ongoing progress can be assessed. This questionnaire is used at regular intervals during your fitness programme to monitor progress towards your goals.

  • Blood Pressure and Resting Heart Rate
  • Body Measurements and Body Shape risk indicators 
  • Body composition: Body Mass Index and Body Fat Analysis 
  • Cholesterol testing 
  • Lung Function tests

Food Diary

If you are looking for weight loss and nutritional advice, we ask you to complete a food diary and detailed questionnaire designed to understand your habits and patterns of eating and drinking. We will then offer advice and recommendations to encourage alternative and healthier eating plans.

Pre & Post-Natal PAR-Q

If you are pregnant or have recently given birth, we ask you to complete a pre- and post-natal physical activity readiness questionnaire (PAR-Q) before you book your initial consultation.

We will also require confirmation from your doctor/midwife or health visitor before beginning any pre- or post-natal exercise programme.
