"My aim was to add lean muscle mass, whilst trying to strip off excess fat and finally get that six pack. My initial attempts involved training with heavy weights five days a week with cardio work thrown in whenever I could manage to find the time (or energy!).
However, I found I often lacked the energy to train hard enough to make any real progress, and would feel sore much of the time.
When Tracey suggested a program involving a swiss ball, dumbells and a full body workout three times a week, I initially doubted it would have any real effect on adding muscle mass as I was still stuck in the 'old-school' mentality that the only way to get big was to train with big heavy weights.
However, I stuck to her programme, and after just three weeks started to notice a real difference in my muscle tone. My abs were also getting a thorough workout simply by performing some of the exercises in a slightly different way to what I was used to. I never realised I could work my abs during a biceps or shoulder exercise, but this way I really did-without the need to perform thousands of agonising crunches everyday! The cardio was done on the days that I didn't train with weights, and that helped keep the fat off.
Overall, I feel so much more toned and now that my fat levels have dropped, my muscles are finally popping through! Thanks Tracey!"
